BIOTECHNOLOGY OF MICROBIAL SYNTHESIS OF FLAVINS AND AROMATIC COMPOUNDS

 

Project idea: development of scientific principles of biotechnological production of riboflavin and essential oil for medical, cosmetic, food, agricultural and other purposes based on the ascomycete Eremothecium ashbyi.

 

Methods and equipment:

 

·         study of the possibility of utilization of oil and fat industry wastes and lignocellulose by the riboflavin producer of the genus Eremothecium;

·         assessment of the metabolic potential of the producer during solid-phase and deep cultivation, including the spectrum of secondary metabolites;

·         development of methods for isolation and purification of riboflavin and essential oil;

·         equipment for aseptic work and for cultivation;

·         spectrophotometers;

·         centrifuges.
