Galkin, AlexanderYu.

Associate Professor, Department of Industrial Biotechnology, PhD in biology.

      Biography.

      A.Galkin was born in Lvov in 1981. In 2004, he graduated from the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" with the qualification of Master of Biotechnology. Between 2003 and 2004 he worked at A.A. Bogomolets National Medical University in the Department of microbiology, virology and immunology (research assistant of monoclonal antibodies laboratory). Since 2005, he has been working at the Department of Industrial Biotechnology of NTUU "KPI". In 2010 he defended his PhD thesis "Biotechnology of obtaining and use of monoclonal antibodies to human IgM".

        Scientific interests.

        Immunobiotechnology: monoclonal and recombinant antibodies, and the diagnostics of human and animal diseases, and environmental monitoring.

        Industrial Pharmacy and biopharmacology: study of the biological activity of new pharmaceutical and biological products, their standardization and organization of production.

         Methodical work.

         A.Galkin is a lector of following courses: "Medical Biotechnology", "Development of biopharmaceutical products and the organization of production", "Biosafety and Bioethics", "Individual development of organisms and the basis of evolution theory", "Technology of microbial synthesis". Also he directs projects and dissertations. A.Galkin is co-author of branch standards for higher education with study field "Biotechnology", as well as specialty "Industrial Biotechnology".He is the head of the commission on Bioethics of Biotechnology and Bioengineering Faculty of NTUU "KPI". A.Galkin is author of 111 scientific works, including 35 papers and 24 patents.
